All Aboard The Mariachi Express
A great day out on the trajineras (barges) on the canals of Zochimilco, at the edge of Mexico City. With my good friends Dave and Alicia (and now the slowly emerging Victoria as well!) and various other assorted Canadians and Mexicans.
3 hours slowly navigating our way down a stretch of the canals while supping beers and taking food on as necessary from the multitude of floating food sellers. We didn't feel compelled to take advantage of the also multitudinous Mariachi bands floating about the place.
Though many others did and along with the Karaoke and Disco barges made for a very 'lively' atmosphere. All stages of inebriation were clearly in evidence along the length of the canals. We, of course, were absolute paragons of sobriety!
Still learning NIK software, so the above is my attempt at creating a 60's-esque postcard feel. More photos from the day here.
