What a lovely surprise!

Robyn went into the kitchen last thing yesterday evening and shouted for me to 'Come in here quickly, there's a moth flying round!' Needless to say I rushed into the kitchen expecting to see a micro moth, but hoping to see a winter moth only to be greeted by this Angle shades moth Phlogophora meticulosa .
To be honest I was a bit surprised, but looking at the info on UK moths I see they can be found any month of the year, although I suspect this one  hatched from the larva I had that escaped a few weeks ago!!  
Never mind, I shall wait for a milder night, and release him back into the wild. In the meantime, I think he makes a perfect blip! The shape of things to come....I can't wait to get my moth trap running again!
