Aperture on Life

In the Barn

The farmer has rented his barn out to house a group of Highland Cattle.  You will see more of them as they are here until March.. together with a Shire Horse that believes that it's a cow!  They normally live on a farm which flooded badly last year. Fearing the worst for this winter,  the animals have been brought here for a long holiday.

They are top of the range show cattle and so very handsome. My favourite breed and I'd have them in a shot if I had a clue about cattle. Pretend you're not tempted, Sheenagh. They're a bit larger than sheep!

I snapped this very quickly as they are definitely not used to dogs. Although they were at my heel and not even slightly interested in their new neighbours,  and the mother of this youngster was getting a tad upset...  and I'm sure the gate wouldn't hold if she decided to charge.
I'll go back another day leaving the mutts in the house.
