Twas on Blip that I learnt about Sea Cliff Beach and finally, made our first visit here today.
A new year's resolution/tryst seems to be being forged by the young couple on the rocks while beyond, The Bass Rock, bare of gannets at this time of the year, seemed almost in touching distance such was the quality of the winter light today. The Isle of May is clearly visible in the far distance.
We met a trio of sea anglers on these sands, from Edinburgh, still wearing head torches in the bright sunlight as they had been on the beach, with long cast lines, since 0500 this morning! They had a few flounders to show for their dedication.
When I asked if they would sell them on to restaurants in town they told me, that that was poaching and if caught they would lose their tackle, including their cars. The robustness of their defence made me think that they thought I might have been some sort of inspector! They also told me that they could give the fish away - nae bother!
I would love to say that we are sitting down to some freshly landed, grilled flounder this evening - but alas twas not the case !
However, the new Blip Apple App is working a treat - and is faster and far more robust than the old one. A great improvement in my view.
( You do need to got to the App store to download the new shiny version - for free, though.)
