Pontypridd v Camarthen Quins
For the first time in ages (the 14th of October 2014 in fact) I managed to get out to a rugby match.
It didn't look hopeful at midday, as it was low cloud and steady rain, but I trusted the weather forecast, and as predicted, at 2pm the sun came out .. God it appears is a Ponty fan, and parted the clouds so he could watch us play!
He probably wished he hadn't ... it was a fairly turgid game played on a pitch that must have resembled sponge to run on!
It was one the games played between the two 22 yard lines, every time someone threatened the try line they dropped the ball or gave away a silly penalty. Ponty could count their lucky stars it was only 6-6 at half time, as Carmarthen Quins had the better of things for the 2nd quarter of the game.
Even a yellow card to the opposition at the kick off of the second half didn't really change things. There were only eight points in the second half, a penalty and an unconverted try to Ponty settling things. I hope it was just Christmas cobwebs for Ponty as they will need to improve in time for the big one at Worcester Warriors at the end of the month!
I had a quick edit of a few more photos. I didn't get that many as the light was pretty rubbish for most of the game. You can see them here in this Flickr album.
