old bricks

Took a walk through Hollycroft Park on the way to my sister-in-laws tonight. Set in a semi circle is a commemorative bench behind which is this wall.
Don`t know if there is any significance to it in relation to the name on the bench but I`m quite intrigued as to where all the different material has come from that has gone into its` construction.
I was going to do a b/w but then I thought it looked better to see the colours of the bricks and stone
