Basket or Buggy

I decided to try a few photos to illustrate poems I've done.  I would appreciate your feedback about the idea.  Thanks.

A WEEEK LATER

Future Shock
would have been more appropriate
than Food Lion.
The remnants of his wife’s last purchases
didn’t match the ingredients on the recipe card
left by the stove.  Food from the funeral
had molded.
The consoling words of his minister
were shattered by the computerized voices
from the digital registers.
He remembered her distress when their neighborhood market closed.  Now, without her, he was faced with
choosing a buggy or a basket.
As he approached the beginning of Aisle 1,
he thought of their grandson’s description
of his first marathon.
Numbers marking the aisles became his mileposts to
self-sufficiency
and the buggy a walker
for the lonely
race.
