The Black Swan

We've got friends from Stevenage staying with us at the moment, unfortunately the weather has turned grey, wet and totally miserable. However, we took a ride over to Chichester Marina and were delighted to see a black swan.  I've never actually seen one before.  The story goes that its male partner was killed in road accident and the two white swans, on the whole, look after her, until they lay their own eggs then the male white swan become aggressive.  This female still lays eggs which are obviously unfertilised, but she cares for them til the end.  Very sad
