touroid day, no 2

Our plans for our days depend on the weather, up to a point.

This morning it was cold, grey and wet. A museum day was in order.

The Rijksmuseum was first. Rembrandt. Vermeer. That kind of stuff. I got in trouble for pointing out the folk playing ice hockey on a frozen lake in some 17th century artistic treasure.

Then the Museum Van Loon.

Finally the Rembranthuis.

After that a quick belt down the street to Lokaal 't Loosje - a lovely wee pub at the Nieuwmarkt. Beer and snacks. Back to my natural element.

The dinner slot was at an idiosyncratic Indonesian restaurant. Excellent food (rendang beef & gado gado), but strange service.

I choose the library at the Rijksmuseum for the Blip. It reminded me of the (now gone) library at King's College, Aberdeen. I spent many an unproductive hour in there. Too many trips to the Pavilion cafe next door for coffee & butteries.
