School visit

Early breakfast ready for a very full morning. First stop the preschool and then onto the farm to harvest Udo with a small hook. Udo is very like oil seed rape and a very valuable crop. 12.00 break for sweetbread and cake and hot sweet tea and then a bit more harvesting before returning for lunch.

On the way to the treehouses for our second night we did a small session at the after school club. Played a new game to me 'duck duck goose'.

While we were sat in the hut before supper a farmer spotted an elephant and we were taken across the onion field for a closer look. We got very close and the elephant spotted us and we were told to climb into the treehouse where we watched 3 elephants walk by about 20 metres away. We were told that when they go round in threes it's usually a mother, motherinlaw and a young one.

Back for supper and then a second night in the treehouse -no more spotted but trumpeting heard twice.

One of the girls had been invited to spend the night in another treehouse with one of the ladies we'd been working with so we went back to her house for breakfast which was round balls of rice and coconut with honey in the middle - very yummy!
