Rain Clouds
See those big, black clouds behind the trees well those made sure that today was a complete wash out weather wise. The rain hasn't stopped all day.
Eldest son and grand-daughter came over with instructions from her mum that we should get her hair cut. Easier said than done. Amelia does not even like having her hair brushed let alone cut so we were all feeling slightly anxious.
We drove to Hove where we knew there was one of those children's hairdressers where the seats are toy cars and the children are meant to be so mesmerised by the tv screens that they don't even know that someone is snipping away at their hair.
We decided to have lunch first though and were joined by youngest son and his girlfriend at The Slug and Lettuce. This was a big mistake as by the end of lunch Amelia was getting tired. Ignoring the warning signs of the thumb in the mouth and the cuddling of bunny we boldly made our way to the hairdressers. We need not have worried, Amelia was completely captivated by the choice of different coloured cars and the individual tv screens and happily made her way towards her chosen vehicle. Sadly, though, there were only two members of staff on duty and therefore no appointments were available. That was when we had a mini melt down as we had to forcibly eject her from the car. I had forgotten about the tantrums of the terrible twos but I remembered very quickly today. It was a wonder that her screams didn't shatter the glass lampshades. We trudged back to the car in the pouring rain and decided to give it all up as a bad job. A little sleep, a warm fire, and apple juice soon revived her at home. and Amelia was then back to her sweet self. We all took a little longer to recover.
