Poe Returning To Boston
A bronze statue by Stefanie Rocknak entitled Poe Returning To Boston was unveiled on the corner of Charles Street South and Boylston Street on October 5th, 2014.
You can't really see it from these pictures, but Poe's briefcase is open, and his books and pages of his books are spilling out behind him as he strides down the street. Amongst the fallen pages on the sidewalk was this one with an eerily appropriate quote from Poe's poem, Tamerlane. It absolutely encapsulates what I am feeling about this whole new Polaroid | blipfoto merger:
I reach'd my home - my home no more -
For all was flown that made it so -
I pass'd from out its mossy door
In vacant idleness of woe.
