Flounder

When I walked by two pairs of mergansers swimming in circles on Thurston Branch, I wondered what they were feeding on. With the southwest wind, the tide was way out and there was just barely enough water to cover the birds when they dived. On the way back, I got a photo of this merganser with a flounder fingerling in its bill.
