My trusty friend

So today blipfoto became Polaroid Blipfoto! I've never owned a polaroid camera personally but my patents have a whole box of polaroid photos from when they were younger. I've been close to buying an old fashioned polaroid as I like the look of the instant photos but my photographer brother keeps reminding me of the cost of film. Hopefully I'll give in and get one sometime!

This is a photo of my trusty camera. He's a Sony Cyber shot DSC-Hx20. Look how battered he is! I saved up and bought him in 2012 to take on my travels around India. I spent ages choosing this one and it really is a great camera. It has really sharp 20x optical zoom and takes clear photos even in low light conditions. Its been very resilient too, I am particularly clumsy and have dropped it many times and it has survived! I really wanted an SLR camera at the time but found this a better size for travelling and it takes good photos anyway. It's helped make some lovely memories in India, Dubai, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Scotland, Wales, London and the north east of course! It cost £350 so I was disappointed to see there are 2 newer models with x30 zoom and more features for less than that but I cant complain cos I've had plenty of use out of him in the past few years. I look forward to taking him to New Zealand soon. After my holiday I will probably start saving for an SLR as I want to do some wildlife photography. Although my mobile phone has a 20mp camera which has been handy at times for a quick shot.

Had a full day at work today and feeling quite flu-ey so had tacos and an early night as working all weekend. Should be reaching for the Lemsip rather than the camera.
