Carver

Afternoon cinema trip. That jaybroek reckons that 'Birdman' won't make my top ten films this year. Early days I know, but I really liked it, much darker than expected and it worked for me on (at least) three levels ;-)

Had to dig out my 'Stories Of Raymond Carver' paperback from the shelves for today's photo. I can distinctly remember buying this from the big Waterstones in Manchester, must have been 1991 or 1992. A Christmas book token to spend, a day return from Sheffield where I lived, a trip to the Cornerhouse to see some arthouse movie as well and the whole thing cost about tuppence ha'penny.

Might as well lie on the sofa with a glass of red and re-read this story for the first time in years now I've gone to all this trouble...accompanied of course by a little music - Raymond(e)
