Woke up in the night with vertigo

I wouldn't mind if I'd been drinking heavily last night,  but I'd spent the day recovering from New year's eve...

I've had  it before,  and I usually find that I can't look up at a ceiling without it happening... it's the horrible feeling when you lie down or tilt your head back that the entire world is shifting, moving and spinning and you have to hold onto something so that you don't fall. 

I'm feeling a bit better this evening, a day of sofa time has helped so hopefully it's just an ear infection or something similar... Either that or sobering up is bad for me...
