Leaping Waters.

Commonly known as the Bridal Veil Falls, these falls are also known by their Maori name of Waireinga [which translates as Leaping Water]. I much prefer Leaping Water, hence my title. The Maoris believe that patupaiarehe [fairies] live here and that they are the kaitiaki [guardians] of the area. When I walked to the base of the falls I could see lots of  patupaiarehe playing in the spray where the  leaping waters hit the main pool. The falls drop for a height of 180 feet.
