I have always felt that the last day of the year is often very festive with the fireworks and all, but this year it was rather quiet. I worked until noon then we left for Kópavogur where we picket up a good friend who drove us to the airport hotel where we spent the evening. It is right across from the airport, which is very convenient. I watched the Icelandic annuals and the new year's comedy on TV and then I could not sleep much, they shot fireworks all night long.
