Spatulometer!

Today we headed back up to Edinburgh.  After a quick lunch, we went to restock the cupboards and before long it was time for mum and dad to head home.

A quiet evening catching up on life.  Today's photo?  A couple of my Christmas presents from my sister and her husband.  The oven gloves were well needed after 5 years of good use from our old ones.  The other thing, well Lakeland would have you believe it's a thermospatula but I prefer my term spatulometer.  It allows you to stir your jam/chutney/wine/etc and know exactly what temperature the mixture is without having to balance a sugar thermometer over the side of the pan.  The probe also pulls out and can be used as a meat thermometer.
