Campsite

After a three-hour (or so) drive, we arrived at our destination. We drove around for a while until we found a good site, away from any rowdy campers and close to the creek.

We pitched our tent, put up the gazebo and settled in.

Cousteau's bed was put next to the tent, but he preferred to wander around and lie in the grass under a tree or in the sunshine.

He had another blanket inside the tent, where he slept at our feet at night. He seemed pretty happy with the arrangements.

While Cousteau made friends of the furry and non-furry kind, we toured our little area in search of good swimming spots and other sights. The campgrounds are free to use, with a very basic long-drop toilet system (as far away from us as possible!).

A lovely risotto for dinner and no fire for us - there was a total fire ban, so we had to just enjoy our fairly lights on the gazebo instead.

A great start to a great trip.
