Happy new year!

Some lovely friends came for lunch and a walk round the ash pits.

Yes, ash pits. As unscenic as one might imagine.

Fireworks in the evening on the links and then a very lovely evening with our neighbours to see in the new year. I have some entertaining pictures of the girls with light sabres playing on the links in the dark but I can't figure out how to put in interweb links on this new fangled blip (cuh), so you'll just have to take my word for it :)

We let the girls stay up to the bells and our other, ever so nice, neighbours instigated a strip the willow down the street. The girls didn't slip into exhausted hysteria, surprisingly, I expect that will bite us on the arse on New Years Day.

Gorgeous evening, filled with happy kids and good chat and I was eased into 2015 by an exceptionally pleasing concoction of elderflower gin and fizzy stuff.

No huge, lifechangjng resolutions, beyond being happy and spending as much giddy time as feasibly possible with family and friends and trying not to be stressed by stuff that's actually just a bit daft at work.
