The usual view

We do get blasé about this view from our living room. I didn't need to go outside for this shot (although I did open the window).  Castle Rock forms an appealing silhouette; the backdrop is forever changing.  Every day the sun sets in a different position, and clouds form and disperse with total unpredicatability.  Of course sometimes both we and the hills are shrouded in mist and cloud, when we have no view at all.  Sometimes, when the southerly wind blows, the trees bend, broken twigs and leaves fly, and the rain pounds us in horizontal sheets.  Not today, though, as it was sunny and warm.  A brilliant start to 2015.  Happy New Year, everybody.
