Boxing Day japes

A fun football game on Boxing Day, held on the South Bay sands, between the Fishermen and Firemen (referring to crew titles on old trawlers), has been played for over 100 years. Lager replaces energy drinks, the referee is merely a whistle blower, and the team captains are always chucked into the freezing sea after the game.
I covered this for most of my 20+ years working on the paper in town, and it was fun to get a few pics on my return, to keep up one of my Christmas 'traditions'.
