Door To Nowhere

Cutting down Cathedral Lane towards the bus stop we passed this elegant doorway, which has seen better days. Unlikely to be still in use, there appears to be no building behind it.

Later research suggests that it might have been a direct access from the Cathedral itself to Cathedral House on York Place, through the garden.
