This may not go well ........

My old Canon 18-55 non IS kit lens has started to fail to auto focus,  it makes a few motor noises but doesn't get the image into focus.  So ... as the accumulated wisdom of t'internet is to replace the flexible cable (the little coiled up strip, bottom right) and as they cost around £5 I might as well give it a go.
