Oliebollen - Dutch treat

Oliebollen (translated oil balls) are the traditional Dutch New Year's Eve treat, deep fried sweet dough balls (in this case filled with raisins, lemon and orange peel and apple) and coated with powdered sugar. Apparently the Belgians don't do them, so I've had to make them myself as countless other Dutchies will have done ... These are a bit more prickly than bally, but they taste ok. having one with a cup of tea before I get busy with the rest of our treats. Wishing you all a very pleasant New Year's Eve and an excellent, happy and healthy 2015.

Thanks very much for your comments and stars for yesterday's broken bauble :-)
