Westgate Gardens

Today I visted friends in Canterbury.  I wandered round the parks and old monuments  before becoming ensconced in a bar for the rest of the day.  This was taken in Westgate Gardens.  It is a 200-year-old Oriental plane tree which is believed to be the oldest specimen in the country.  It is rumoured that the trunk has actually engulfed a metal seat which once encircled it
