This may have been my introduction to the music of Bo Diddley when I heard this song on the first Rolling Stones album in 1964. It was also recorded by the Nashville Teens and slightly later by the West Coast group Quicksilver Messenger Service who stretched it out to twenty minutes or more in live performance.
This is shamefully the first Bo Diddley LOTD, after 813 other entries.
Bo Diddley was born on this day, 30 December 1928, in McComb MS, and died 2 June 2008 in Archer FL.
