In the pink
Today's cold, bright, very frosty dawn was extraordinary for the warm glow low in the sky that turned the condensation trails of overflying aircraft a bright pink. I would have blipped that, but only caught them through the trees, and they had faded and were evaporating by the time I found a clear space for a better view.
Then this evening the sinking sun once again tinged the horizon a bright pinky-gold, and warmed the edges of the interesting formations of clouds that made th sky such an eye magnet.
I love the sharp clear light of winter, and even enjoy the crisp cold air. We are so lucky to have such distinct seasons here in the UK. The New Year will turn a bit warmer, or so the forecast is saying. At least we're not being plagued by the constant rain and flooding of a year ago.
Last day of 2014 tomorrow. Hard to believe it's almost a year since I started blipping. Blipiversary coming up!
