Forth Bridge

We had spent a very pleasant afternoon taking Afternoon Tea with friends at The Dome, I took several photos of the seasonal decorations and my blip was to be the best of those.
Then later in the evening Mr Flum announced that, according to his Aurora app, there could be a sighting of the Northern Lights at 22.00h - so we rushed off to find a suitable viewing place, without extraneous lighting. He thought the Firth of Forth west of Hopetoun would be ideal and we arrived just in time.
We observed that I) the lights from Rosyth dockyard are dazzling
2) the Northern Lights had remained in the north, and 3) it was too cold to be hanging around waiting for them after the appointed time had passed.
So on the way home we stopped to take photos of the floodlit railway bridge instead, along with several other photographers, some of whom were far more appropriately equipped than any of us. We also observed that frost on railings does not allow a bendy tripod to stay in one position, and the wall below might have been better.
