Taking the low road
The long drive home felt rather... long. 14 hours of straight roads to be exact. We had penciled in 12 but we were sabotaged by our gps which decided to take us a country road down through New Mexico instead of diagonally gone via Lubbock.
The real low was in San Angelo, where it took us an hour for a fast food pizza and a coffee.
Apart from that it was a nice scenic drive, until it got dark. Then we could have been anywhere.
The lesson; anything over 8 hours is a two day trip!
