Marcus Aurelius

This incredibly life-like portrait bust of the Roman soldier-philospoher Emperor,Marcus Aurelius, is to be found in the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge.

The head was carved in Alexandria, Egypt from 161 to 180.  The drapery is also ancient but originally from a different statue.
