LILY

Had an appointment at the podiatrist this morning.  She checked my feet and I was pleased when she told me that the infection had gone from my big toe.  I have another appointment in February.  Did a bit of shopping in the village before coming home.  Very cold and frosty this morning so I didn't linger outdoors for too long.

Once I was back home I did some hoovering, tidying, bed making etc ready for Becky and Mike arriving.  They were driving from Loughborough where they had been staying with Mike's parents for a couple of days.  Becky was pleased that there was a lot of snow in Loughborough as she loves the snow and doesn't get much down in London.

So Becky and Mike arrived around 2pm.  They got straight on with unwrapping their presents.  After about half an hour Mike went upstairs to the ( NEW ) bathroom.  Then he called down for Becky to go up.  She wondered why and then when she saw the new bathroom she let out a shriek.  She was amazed.  Amazed at the bathroom .....  but even more amazed that I had kept it a secret from her.  Then I showed her the cloakroom.  She couldn't believe that finally there is a toilet in there that works.

We spent quite some time unwrapping presents ( I always buy loads for Becky ) and then at 5pm Becky and Mike gave me a lift down to slimming club.  I just popped in to get weighed and didn't stay for the meeting afterwards.  I put on 3 pounds - not surprising considering all the " naughty " things I have been eating.

Then it was back home to start cooking the Christmas meal.  Its our tradition to have a Christmas dinner when Becky and Mike come between Christmas and New Year.  Mike did most of the cooking and I peeled veg and washed up as we went.  Neil was here today so there were four of us sitting down to eat

With all the excitement I forgot to take any photos so now that everyone else is in bed its just me and the cats downstairs and I decided to take a shot of Lily.
