Great Spotted Woodpecker, oil pastel

My middle daughter was 10 on Saturday and she was given a fabulous 'Artist's Compendium ' by her grandparents, so well finally got to draw and paint this afternoon, which has been our first quiet moment.

This is my woodpecker and as I keep telling the girls: 'practice, practice and never stop practising!' Which is what we did.
