Christmas in Budapest!

This morning my son Daniel and I got up, bleary eyed at 3.00 a.m. to catch a flight from Gatwick to spend Christmas in Budapest!  The flight was on time at 7.30 a.m. and a couple of hours later, we arrived at Budapest, took a bus, a couple of changes on the metro and we reached our hotel in the Buda side of the city.  They let us check in early, so had the rest of the day to cross over the Chain Bridge explore  Christmas markets etc. in Pest.  It was first time we'd visited there and we were so impressed!  So much to see and do! 

We had a room overlooking the Danube and this was the view of Parliament from our window glowing in the sunlight.  It really was spectacular!
