Frosted Footprints
Another very cold day and one where our central heating again failed to keep the house warm. The engineer was out today to have a look at it but needed to get some parts to do the necessary work tomorrow. Although it was another day of a cold house, he is actually doing us a huge favour as he is supposed to be off until 5th January but this is a great example of what it takes to be self employed, in that you really do have to respond to your customers needs - or somebody else will and they may no longer be your customer. I told him that I would normally let it wait until he was back working but the current cold spell makes that impractical and therefore asked for it to be sorted as soon as possible.
Today’s blip is a photo of the frost on top of one of the sleepers surrounding our raised pond, showing evidence of cat and some medium sized bird having been in attendance. Thankfully, I don’t think that the prints are big enough to have been a heron, but wouldn’t want to rule that possibility out. We can vouch for the cats as we have two of them and both of them seem resigned to accepting that the fish have not been put in the pond as their playthings or snacks.
