The pink pom-poms are the ancient (100+ years old) rhododendrons in the garden, they're really tall, this picture was taken from the second floor of the house. We have a crow that's been putting food in the birdbath (which they are known to do, apparently) but this is the first year that I've witnessed this behavior. It's creating quite a bit of viewing interest for our cats. The crow puts the food in the water only for a while, just until it's really soaked, then flies off with it.
