Lady's Slipper
An evening visit to the garden of a well known plantsman, writer and botanist. Marred by a heavy cold and the unseasonally cold weather which meant that "the garden will look it's best this time next month!" Although I did not stay for the planned meal in the pub--next-door it is always interesting to explore a new garden .... especially when it extends to four acres!
The chosen subject is Cyprepedium parviflorum from North America, closely related to Cyprepedium calceolus, the European Lady's Slipper orchid.
