Chanctonbury ring - south downs way

Iron age fort on the south downs between Washington and Steyning.

Now a ring of trees surrounded by clear grasslands. When it was built it was probably the reverse.

According to Wikipedia,  Bertrand Russell once remarked that "any view that includes Chanctonbury Ring is a good view".
