Longer days
We're in the Twixtmas season, between Christmas and the New Year. After a very busy year, I am really relishing some 'down' time with the family. Good to know that we are also a week on from the shortest day, so daylight hours are gradually beginning to lengthen. Hooray.
Another long lie-in today, followed by some very modest retail therapy. On the way back home this afternoon, the village church was like a beacon across the green, with the warm glow of the stone in the floodlights.
This is the churchyard where my parents and in-laws are laid to rest. So too are Sir Malcolm Campbell of land speed record fame and William Woollett the founder of daylight saving.
