Tree at Loch Etive
(This one looks more impressive large).
I thought the area around Glencoe to be stunning when I drove through on the way up last week, and spending some more time in the area confirmed that.
Went for a short walk above Loch Linnie before lunch, as suggested by the B&B. Through forestry on the way up, but the views from the top were great. Very peaceful up on the mountain, and I took the opportunity to sit and read for an hour or so.
Went exploring after lunch... A look at the map showed a couple of interesting little lochens along Glen Etive, and a view down Loch Etive - which is quite remote with almost no buildings. The little lochens were very pretty, and a herd of wild deer which seemed very accepting of my presence.
The shot of the day (blipped) was a lone tree at the head of Loch Etive. Maybe a bit more 'twiggy' than I'd like, but still offsets the view very well. A little like the one that is no more on Rannoch Moor, and also a couple in the Lake District as blipped by John of LPH.
If the weather holds a trip up onto Rannoch Moor tomorrow.
