Please Mum...

This is my youngest son upset that I wouldn't let him venture a little further away from the house with his friends. He's doing persuasive writing at school and he even wrote me a letter putting forward his case! It was very impressive, correctly punctuated and all spelt correctly.

As a mum there are no guide books.

Sometimes it's difficult to know when to give them a little more freedom. You want to wrap them in cotton wool but you have to let them venture out into the world and be individuals.

So I said yes.

After some tears and lots of negotiating. We even drew up a contract so that he knows exactly what he can and can't do and consequences for breaking the rules!
