Another Languedoc year...

Workshop

I spent this morning in one of my favourite places. It was freezing in the garden and a sharp wind was blowing off the Pyrenees, so I decided to have a go at tidying up my workshop. Since we moved it's become a dumping ground for anything and everything.

I have a great desire to keep everything categorised so it's easy to find, hence all the labels. The desk always has a pile of stuff to be mended. The pair of lamps are awaiting new bulb fittings and a foot glueing back on. The pump on the chair no longer works, but I want to rescue the huge length of cable so I can use it on something else. I always have lots of broken spades and forks awaiting new handles after our unforgiving 'soil' sees them off.

One of my best Christmas presents was the short Sneeboer fork that you can see on the worktop. It's shorter than a border fork but longer than a hand fork, so perfect for weeding in tough soil where you need a bit of leverage.

You can only see a small section of the workshop here. Multiply this view by six and you have an idea of the chaos.

I gave up sorting when my brother rang to say he'd called an ambulance for my mum who's staying with him as respite for us. Apparently her heart was fluttering like mad and causing her to panic. She's currently in A&E. He sounds very relaxed about it so I'll take his lead for the time being.

Having taken the last two blips on my iPhone, and noticing they were very green, I have now discovered the setting to correct it. Better colours tomorrow - promise.
