Blake
A couple of months ago Dana and Peter began going every Saturday to puppy petting/training sessions for a woman who raises companion dogs for children with special needs. Currently, she has a litter of eight black labs who will soon be going to their puppy raisers' homes. Some will be "facility dogs" who go to schools and hospitals, others will be placed with families who have a child with autism, Down Syndrome, a seizure disorder, or are at risk for diabetic coma.
Just before she was offered a full time job in the special ed program at the middle school, Dana volunteered to be a puppy raiser. Before she accepted the job, she asked us if we would take the puppy (basically every place we go) while she was working. How could we say no?
I took 111 pictures of Blake today. most of them were of the tip of his tail or one ear. I was tempted to publish my shot of the young man in the cheese department at Oliver's with a foot tall green and brown mohawk, but he really wasn't the story today, was he?
