HIGH POINTS OF CHRISTMAS PAST

On Boxing Day, the Prof likes to remember his Grandparents' wedding anniversary.   We remembered them especially this year, on their 100th anniversary.  Elizabeth Coverdale married Richard Albert Dale, who died 18 months later  on 1 July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme.  Their clock stands on our mantelpiece, set at a few minutes past 7.30 am, the time he fell.
