A colour aberration

I did wonder if this was a teddy bear bee, but after long and hard deliberation - I'm just not sure.

I want it to be a teddy bear - I want it really really badly,

But I tend to think it's just a colour aberration, and it's a blue banded bee after all.  It just happens to be bright yellow.  I can't find anything in the literature to suggest that they come in a yellow colour, and I also thought that the colour variation only went from white through to blue.

But the bands are the bands of a blue banded, not a teddy bear.  And the eyes should be brown.

We went down to the Blueberry Patch, a small commercial grower just outside the small country town of Mt. Compass, south of Adelaide.  We took a picnic and had blueberry ice cream for dessert.

The owner has a beautiful cottage garden, and we are permitted to the edge of it.  Bees galore, yellow and blue!
