Things that make me smile

Post Surgery

An early start today, as we had to be at St George's by 7.30 am. Amy was in good spirits and went into theatre at 9.45.

For the next hour I sat in one of the hospital's cafes and knitted, trying to take my mind off the fact that my 8 year old was under general anaesthetic and having her nail removed. I needn't have worried though as she was fine. She recovered from the anaesthetic well and has had no pain in her finger. They removed the nail, repaired the nail bed and put a splint into the bandage, as the tip of her finger is also fractured. The level of care she received was excellent... a thumbs up for the NHS all round!

This shot was taken back up on 'Jungle Ward' which is the one of the children's day care wards. As you can see she was taking it all in her stride!
