Where's the beach gone?

We headed north to Whitley Bay this morning. After lunch we went for a walk to the beach but it was high tide. Will and Carys have never seen this beach at high tide and Will couldn't get his head around it at all. Carys was quite interested in why there were holes in the wall between the ramp and the beach. Grandad explained. While I took this photo we could still see St. Mary's lighthouse. As we turned and walked towards it, it disappeared! Definitely a sign to return indoors.
