Cold and Grey Boxing Day!

Yes - it's very "damp" cold and grey today so I went for a little walk outside our house and saw some "houses in the sky"  I always love to see the birds nests once the leaves have all gone.  You can see one here, very high up and then a close up with my super-duper zoom lens!  Then I took a few shots of our cemetery!  How many of you can say that your house backs on to a cemetery?  Ours does and it was one of the biggest buying features for two reasons.. (a) it is very quiet and (b) it is very unlikely anyone will ever get permission to build on it so we won't be overlooked! Good eh?  If you look closer at the monument (see bottom right) then you will notice the poor chap at the top died 108 years ago tomorrow aged only 26!  Not a good Christmas for that family eh?  Very sad but the Victorians did like to give people a good send off if they could afford it - as shown by the very elegant memorial.  My final collage picture is of a Yucca plant that is really not supposed to survive in our climate but survive it does and it even flowers some summers!
