Boating Lake : Fleetwood

Wet, cold and windy.

Tons of sand gets blown into this boating lake, so every year they drain and clean it, and then wait for a very high tide to come in and fill it up again.

At one time they used to put the sand back on the beach thinking that it was helping to preserve the dunes but they now have to take it to the tip. The ‘sludge’ contains nutrients that upset the ecology and harm the dune plants.
